Digging to the Roots Calendar Winner, Ina Roy-Faderman
Ina Roy-Faderman, M.D., Ph.D., Sunnyvale, California
Ina Roy-Faderman was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Bengali parents, an incongruity which explains most of her subsequent activity. While completing her MD at Stanford University, she studied creative writing through Stanford’s English Department; she began publishing fiction and poetry while finishing her PhD in Philosophy at UC Berkeley. Her creative work has appeared in Long Shot Magazine, Silver Web, Highlights for Children, Pif magazine and others.
She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she teaches for the Philosophy Department at Oregon State University and writes about the lives of ravens, raptors, and egrets. Her plans include getting some sleep real soon now.
